Make Do and Mend Stall

Got any old clothes that need fixing or funking up? Bring them to the swap on August 8th and go to the Make Do and Mend Stall! We'll have a sewing machine, some fabrics and buttons and some fantastic friendly people who can show you how to:

1) Sew buttons on
2) Patch holes
3) Mend tears
4) Hem trousers and skirts

Or customise the clothes you have picked up at the swap!

What is a clothes swap??

Exeter Clothes Swap - August 8th at St Sidwells Centre, Exeter.

Q.How Does a Clothes Swap Work?

A. It's very simple!
  • Bring at least one item of clothing to donate
  • Take as many items of clothing as you want!
  • Leave a donation to cover costs if you like
Q. Why does Exeter need a clothes swap?!

A. Lots of reasons:
  • Environmental - In the UK we throw away 1 million tonnes of old clothes and textiles each year. Over 7.5 billion articles of clothing go into our dustbins every year, with most ending up in landfill.
  • Social - A lot more friendly and interactive than trawling round High St Shops on a busy Saturday
  • Fun - You don't know what you'll find!
  • Fashion - A great way to de-clutter and overhaul your wardrobe
